I don't know, but I noticed. No need to! :)

I don't know either! It's really easy for me to speak English even if it's not my native language, but when it comes down to speaking German I'm... blocked. It must be some sort of psychological trauma, I blame my German conversation teacher! She spent all her classes talking and talking and talking. Hello? We are supposed to talk, not you! XD

Maybe, my accent is too deterrent. XD

I thought about doing the test, but then I didn“t, because I was afraid I might end up with a lower score than you did and then I would have to kick my own ass. :p

Ah, I know the feeling. Same with me when it comes to Englisch. Or French.
:/

HAHA, I don't think you'd get a lower score than me, really. ;)

The thing I don't understand is that I don't have that problem with English, only with German...

I am the same! I can read it, write it resonably well and sit on the train next to strangers and understand exactly what they are talking about, but as soon as someone turns to me and expects me to speak German back to them, I want the ground to open up and swallow me u_u although I am like that with English anyway

My problem is I am a perfectionist and I know my German will never be good enough for my standards. Not the best attitude to learn a language, I know. Maybe it's just because I never speak it, my English got much better after I went to England. I mean, it wasn't as good as it is now, but when I came back from England I was much more confident, just like I was more confident after my two-week holiday in Berlin two years ago. Perhaps if I manage to attend that course and do that internship in Berlin, things will change, I mean, I'd be forced to speak German all the time...

Yes, I always feel more confident after a couple of days :) It takes a while to get used to hearing a different language but soon afterwards you slip into it.

It is so difficult to learn another language here. It is not really encouraged at school, I know only two people who can actually speak another language other than English, there are no real "other language" sections in book shops (what they have is really just English books translated into another language, and I would rather read something written in its original format) so it's difficult to practise speaking it because there is no one to practise on.

I have no problem with German or Swedish, even if I know I'll make slight mistakes, but French or Italian (well, to be fair, I haven't had very much Italian) terrify me. xD

I think your spoken German is good, though! :)

Thanks. :) It's just that I think "But... my German should be much better!" I'll never improve if I go on thinking like that, though...
