Mood swings and meme

I was bored and wasted some time doing the Einbürgerungstest (btw, do people really have to take the test to get German citizenship?) There are 300 questions and I got fed up at the 50th, but I only got 3 wrong, that's not too bad, is it? Most of the questions were quite easy though, at least for me, since I took 2 Public Law Exams in university and Italian and German laws aren't so different.

I'm tired of mood swings. This morning I was totally depressed and was thinking of sending the camera back because, let's be honest, what the fuck was I thinking when I ordered it? Even if I took a photography course, then what? It was just a waste of money. Oh well, I have a couple of days to think it over.

I also saw the "Give me a fandom and I'll name my favourite..." meme, but since my current active fandoms are Die Ärzte and Richy Guitar, and the character choice in RG is quite limited, I'll just go ahead and answer on my own. Feel free to give me a different fandom if you're curious. Fandoms I've written in: The Cure, Harry Potter, Lupin the Third and a few others I don't remember right now. Just have a look at my site. :P

FANDOM: DIE ÄRZTE

Favorite character: Bela B.
Least favorite character: Uhm... Sahnie? No, wait: Jenny Elvers! XD
Character with the best hair: ROD! Ooh, shiny...
Character with the best eyes: Bela
Character I'd most want to kiss: Bela
Character I'd most likely shag: HAHA, as if any of them would want to shag me
Character I'd make lunch for: mmh, maybe Farin? Because I can't cook meat. XD
Character I'd go singing in the rain with: Bela
Character I'd go shopping with: Bela! And we'd buy something outrageously tacky. XD
Character I'd go dancing with: Rod
Character I'd take over the world with: Farin! MWHAHAHA.
Character I most want to see more of: Bela. Or Rod, because we've already seen everything of the other two. Huhu.
Favorite het pairing: Bela/Mareike (SHUT UP, THEY LOOKED CUTE TOGETHER)
Favorite slash pairing: Bela/Farin DUH.

And a pic someone posted on the DÄOF Forum. Oh, Bela.

do people really have to take the test to get German citizenship?
Yes. But it's so easy, you have to be more than stupid to fail. ;)

what the fuck was I thinking when I ordered it?
You wanted to do something good to yourself, which isn't wrong. :)

But I always feel terrible whenever I spend more than 100 euros on something I don't really need. The only thing I don't feel guilty for are concerts and holidays (which go often hand in hand since I ALWAYS HAVE TO GO ABROAD TO SEE MY FAVOURITE BAND FOR FUCK'S SAKE PLAY IN ITALY YOUR ARSEHOLES! Ehm...)

You know, I was brought up this way and now it's difficult to change. My parents' philisophy is that you can spend more money on holiday because: a) holidays come only once (or twice) a year and b) holidays are a way to let go of all the stress you piled up during the year, so if you don't go on holiday sooner or later you'll go crazy. My mother got so pissed off when I told her I didn't want to go on holiday a few years ago, she all but forced me to go. XD She was right though, I needed that.

Even when I go shopping during sales I always try to spend as little money as possible, unless there's something I really need, like when my boots were falling apart, and I mean litterally, the sole had come off.

Man, I need a shrink. =/

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, it's different in my family. My grandparents lived in poverty after the war, but reached a very good income relatively fast. So there was lots of stuff to buy and they did, because they were finnaly able to. My parents didn't change that way. I learned that it's okay to spend your money, because you worked for it and deserve to spend it for things you like, doesn't matter what. I think, I'm the first person since 60 years who tries to be more reasonable. Honourable resolution, but I fail too often. ;)

Na, you don't need a shrink. We don't want to know, but we are very much more our parent's children as we want it.

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, my parents lived in poverty after the war too (they're both in their late '60s) and they were never rich. So, knowing they had to made sacrifices for everything (buying a house, paying for my studies), I feel bad for spending my money on things I don't need, because I think "My parents never had the chance of buying something nice for themselves and only had money after my dad retired and got his... uhm, Abfindung? And here I am wasting my money like this." Which doesn't make much sense, I know, but... I grew up sensing it in the family (even if my parents did their best to hide it), so it's not easy to get rid of this way of thinking.

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure it isn't. We spend very much time with them and adopt their way. I wish, it would be easier to forget a few things. ;)

I think, the Wirtschaftswunder made lots of things possible. My grandfathers were industrial workers, but their jobs were well paid. There was peace again and they had the money, so they wanted to have fun.

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I know my parents probably want me to have the life they couldn't have, earlier I told my mother I feel guilty whenever I spend "too much money" and she looked at me with a face that said "ARE YOU CRAZY?", but I feel guilty all the same. =/

SHRINK! XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn. Mothers seem to have a special secret power to make us feel every way they want. My mother always tries to talk me into the life she didn't have. She wasn't allowed to go out and expects me to do it excessively today. I disappoint her with being uninterested... ;)

Shrink, too. XD

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
And we'd buy something outrageously tacky

You mean something outrageously tacky like... This?

Man, the only thing tackier has got to be a cut-glass ashtray with a holiday scene embossed on the bottom of it. Or an ice bucket in the shape of a pineapple <3

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait... Wait. I've found something even tackier...

You can have the fake egg with the train in it. I'm having the one with the King XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Deal! Wow, that's so Bela. He'd love it, I'm sure. :D

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
There's something for everyone!

I imagine this to be Bela's Christmas tree:

And this is what he got Farin because A: It's a bike (so cool... *snorts*) and B: It's advertised as a "Weekend Warrior" XD How can you go wrong?

PS I'm sorry I'm spamming, but I love tack to very much XD Nothing cheers me up more than something tasteless <3

[identity profile] schonste.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
lol all of this is so, so horrible. XD

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Gasp! How dare you say that the Handcrafted, Legendary Elvis 24-carat Gold and Swarovski Crystal Guitar Pendant is horrible! It oozes class!

XD

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG if Farin got Bela this for Christmas... Bela would just explode in one gigantic orgasm and be Farin's sex slave foreverrr! XD

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hell, if anyone gets me something Elvis I immediatley become their sex slave XD I sold my soul the King of Rock and Roll when I was twelve. This is the first year in about ten years I've not got an Elvis Calendar (I seen the Hammer Horror one and couldn't resist D: ).

Hee, I'm just going to keep posting Elvis stuff here until you tell me to stop XD Stuff like this and this. Ah Bela, you have such taste... It's a shame they don't make any rings otherwise I'm sure you'd finally let Farin marry you and claim your ass XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Great stuff. Farin will love it. :D

BTW: Farin told in interview that they give each other trashy things. XD

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I heard that in one of his interviews :) Hee, Li and I shower each other with tacky things. We try to out-do each other with the level of tastelessness. I am running out of space to put things, and then when she comes round she goes "Hey, where is the crystal swan I got you?" or "Where is that china moon with the tear painted on it?" XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh nooo, that's terrible. I discovered minimalism some time ago and throw tons of stuff away. I always get a personal crisis if someone gives me such things, because there's no room for them left. :D

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No no no! Tacky things are wonderful! Especially when they make you burst out laughing just by looking at them. I find minimalism against mankinds urge to collect and hoard things XP

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I need rooooooom, lots of room. Things aren't allowed to blame me. XP

I find minimalism against mankinds urge to collect and hoard things
I lived that for two decades, that's enough. I can start again when I'm fourty. :D

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, maybe it's because I'm a midget then, that I like clutter XD Even Li hates my room because all of the walls lean and the ceiling is very low, but I love rooms like this. I love lots of things to look at and touch and hide in :) Almost like a grotto! Makes me feel like a kid.

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, no, that isn't my room. My brother calls my room the "factory building without inhabitants". He likes clutter too. XD

I'm a midget.
How tall is a midget? ;)

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
How tall is a midget? ;)
In my case, I am just over 150cm tall, which is pretty pathetic XD I am about the height of an average 11 year old child.

Hee, my room is a shrine to comic books. In fact, there are comics in every single room of this house except for the bathroom. I really should catagorise them... But there are so many D:

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That isn't that tall, indeed. I fought hard to finnaly reach the magic border of 170cm. I failed for years and got a growth spurt when I was almost twenty. Now, I'm 171,5cm. I Insist of my 0,5. ;)
But I feel rather small nevertheless, it seems everyone is taller than me.

The only things I own excessively are books and music. The rest is ok now. :D

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I fell into a wall earlier today because I tripped over my jeans as they are far too long for me :( My feet have not grown since I was 12 (I still wear my very first pair of Docs that I got when I was that age). Oh how I wish I was just a little bit taller... Though it makes staring at tits easier on my neck because I don't need to bend down to get an eyeful XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Though it makes staring at tits easier on my neck because I don't need to bend down to get an eyeful
That's a very big advantage. :D

Your docs live for so long? I think, mine were destroyed after five years. I got a new pair, but it felt different compared to the past. I don't now why, they weren't that cuhsy. I gave them to a friend after month of not wearing them.

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I have 12 pairs, so I alternate between them all depending on my mood :) I have:

Purple
Oxblood red shoes
Black with silver buckles on them
Black knee-high
Blue suede shoes (lol)
Electric blue
Emerald green
Mint
Lavendar
White with spots
Brown 16-hole
And another pair of black shoes somewhere else

My first pair were the purple ones, which I wore all the way through school. They have a hole in the side of them, but I just taped them up from the inside so they don't leak. I want buried with them, damnit :O

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, that's a collection. I just had red, later black ones. They are too expensive here to have so many. Maybe it's like the dvd-thing, what do you have to pay for them?

[identity profile] angrylogic.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
.The cheapest pair were 50p. The most expensive were £20. They're all second hand I bought them from charity shops and flea markets :) Normally I pay about £3-£8 for a pair. It's just luck, being in the shop/at the stall at the right time. They are about £60-£100 new, but I would never pay that much XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, they are damn expensive wherever you buy them. I saw a pair at a second hand shop, but they were in a ugly blue... I have to look for them. But there are no good second hand shops in my city. I have to travel around to Essen or Düsseldorf. The right time is the problem then. XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
And you have the advantage of a small size. My 39 is Allerweltsgröße. ;)

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHA, that's because Germans are pretty tall, if you were in Italy, almost everyone would be shorter than you. I'm 174 and only one of my girl friends is taller than me. Even three of my male friends are shorter than me. XD

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It's so bad. I was the tallest in my class in school, even taller than all the boys. Some years later I'm smaller than everyone. GRMPF!

The average German is tall, but the Dutch are taller. I feel like a midget too compared to them. Ok, I'll move to Italy. :D

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, Dutch boys. *dreamy eyes* When I went to Amsterdam I was amazing at the sight of all those pretty, tall boys...

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I want a tall man! But every woman seems to be taller than 1,90m too. :D

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
*imagines Bela standing next to a 1,90m tall girl*

*rofl*

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
HEHE, poor Bela. :D

Bela: "Kiss me."

She: "Get a chair."

XD

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
AWWWWW! >_<

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, yes. That's cute. :D

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Bela: *outraged* "Farin never said such a thing! He would place a hand on my hip and bend down and... oops, too much information..."

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
She: *pouts* "Where do you go?"

Bela: *runstoFarin*

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Farin: *arms crossed and tapping foot*

Bela: *throws himself at him, they both fall down* "Oh yes, so I don't need to stand on my tiptoes and crane my neck to kiss you!" *proceeds to snog him senseless*

[identity profile] polarforscherin.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Farin: "Hey, you went to that girl. I told you, it's a bad idea. I don't take you back that easy!"

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2009-01-05 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Bela: "Pretty please?" *bats eyelashes and runs a finger slowly down Farin's chest*
