Farin's tour + audio files + women's rights

It amazes me that people are already thinking of buying tickets for Farin's concerts, I mean, the tour starts next October! Do I need to buy them so early? Are they even on sale? I started checking flights/trains, but it's still so early that infos for October aren't available yet.

Also, could someone please explain me why a flight from Milan to Berlin with Air Berlin costs 47€ (taxes included), while a flight to München costs 89€? WTF? München is much closer, why does it cost almost twice as much? *sigh* Maybe I'll go by train, but you can't check prices for international trains online, I'll have to go to Milan Central Station and ask there. The journey's more than 7 hours long. Ugh. And then the next day München - Innsbruck, I think that's gonna take only a couple of hours. And then Innsbruck - Milan, about 5:30 hours long because I have to change train somewhere along the way. It would be a pretty intense weekend, but it'd be so great if I really managed to go.

Anyway, I said I'd post some audio files, didn't I? First a little thing for [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin, who wanted to know how to pronounce "che sfortuna". The volume may be a bit low, but it sounds much better compared to my old crappy mike.

Che sfortuna! - .wav file, about 8Kb

And since I wanted to post something else in Italian, I chose the inscription on Hell's door from Dante's Inferno, just because it's the first thing that occurred to me and I know it by heart. The inscription, not the whole damn Divine Comedy, of course. :P

Canto III - .wav file, about 77Kb

"Per me si va nella città dolente,
Per me si va nell'etterno dolore,
Per me si va nella perduta gente.
Giustizia mosse il mio alto fattore:
Fecemi la divina potestate,
La somma sapïenza, e 'l primo amore.
Dinanzi a me non fuor cose create
Se non etterne, e io etterna duro:
Lasciate ogni speranza, voi ch'entrate."

Also, I went to a demonstration for women's rights in Milan yesterday and it was great. There were about 200,000 people, luckily not only women, and some of the banners were hilarious. We protested, among other things, against the constant meddling of the Catholic church in political matters and a couple of my favourite banners said "Stop Ratzism" and "Priests, stay out of our pants". XD God, I should go to demostrations more often.

All right, off to learn some new kiwido tricks now. But before I go...

The Five Things Meme

You post a topic, list, category, whatever, in my comments section. (examples: "5 Sexiest Things About Ron Weasley" or "Top 5 things to drink"). Then, in a separate post, I'll post the answers to all your Top 5 ideas, according to me. Then you post this offer in your own journal.

Haha, awesome XD God, you talk fast o_O

Grazie!

(Actually, I knew that about "ch" being "k" and "c" being "ch" but I forgot in a temporary brain freeze. Sorry.)

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Prego! :)

I talk fast? Oops, and I even tried to slow down a bit. I can speak faster than that and I girl I know speak much, much faster... o_O

Also, you probably already know this, but "c" is pronounced like "ch" only if it's followed by "i" or "e", otherwise it's like "k". A pretty mess, huh? ;)

Oh, I guess that's right, I was just thinking of, for example, "cello," haha.

Trust me, it's not as bad as Swedish XD Swedish has some crazy sounds that also change radically depending on which vowel comes after...ahahaha. Oh well ;)

Hmm, maybe I should take Italian next year instead of Portuguese...*g*

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, cello is pronounced "sell-ou" in English, isn't it? You'd say "chello" in Italian, with the "ch" like in mmh... chess. Hehe, accents are fun. X)

Also, sorry for all the typos in my previous post. *hides under writing desk*

Hey, I had Swedish crisps (http://www.svenskalantchips.se/) yesterday! (All right, you call them chips in the US... ;) ) God, they're ADDICTIVE! I don't usually eat crisps, but those little things are worse than a drug! O_O

"Cello" is a loanword that has kept its original pronunciation, more or less, so we also say "chello".

They sure are! Thanks for the Dante clip, I love it.

Oh, I didn't know it, thank you. :)

We think about buying tickets now because they start to sell tomorrow morning and will probably be sold out of the stuff by 11 a.m. ;) But it's always possible to get tickets via ebay much later. it worked for me last year.

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You're making fun of me, right? Right? o_O

I'm asking because we've had the same problem with Depeche Mode tickets, they sold out in no time, and I don't really know how popular Farin's solo stuff is on the other side of the Alps... o_O

[identity profile] zenkatze.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, but this is for real. *soothingly pats back*
Farin in VERY popular!

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
But... But... *lip quiver* And you can buy tickets only calling the number on Farin's website? I mean, not through sites like ticketonline or something?

I'm screwed. I'm so screwed.

"And you can buy tickets only calling the number on Farin's website? I mean, not through sites like ticketonline or something? "

The question I was thinking about!!!!!

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
If it really works like that, I'll personally go to Hamburg, find his bloody house and kick his bony arse!

[identity profile] eryka-59.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Take pictures of that, I wanna see it! Or I'll come with you, and...well, I'll find something to do to him...XD
But I don't think it works that way...I hope so XD

[identity profile] eryka-59.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
BTW very nice audio files! :) Listening to you speaking Italian is just great! :)

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Grazie! ;) I'll post something in English or German next time. Any requests? X)

[identity profile] eryka-59.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Gerade fällt mir nichts ein...*g* Lass mich überlegen...;)

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Or I could say something in French, so you'll laugh. XD

Your top 5 favorite things to do on a rainy day.

Top 5 songs you'd consider using as your theme song.

Your top five of things you like about yourself.

Your top five list of your unrealized wishes and/or your top five of your secred desires.

:D

And have I mentioned that I love your voice? Italian is such a sexy language.
:)

[identity profile] gothikmaus.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeeh, so many things to write! :D

I find my recorded voice quite different from my real voice, but maybe I should ask someone else, my perception of my own voice is probably different from what other people actually hear. Man, what a messy sentence. XD Thank you, though! :)
