And talking about Danny, my American cousin was in Italy with his wife and kids in August and of course my mum invited him over for dinner. She then proceeded to show them the picture I took with Scott Caan at the Falcon Theatre (I printed a copy and sent it to her) and apparently they went crazy about it. I mean, they are from Jersey, so Danny must be their TV hero or something. ;)
LOL that's funny! Being from NJ myself, I do admit to having a special affinity to Danny because the character is supposed to be from Jersey.
But part of why I'm drawn to Scott, the actor, is: when I learned he was James Caan's son he took on a strange sort of familiarity to me. Because, along with other actors of his generation, James Caan was a household name in my family when I was growing up---due to the fact that the Italian side of my family LOVED The Godfather. I swear I knew all the actors' names before I knew some of my more distant relatives' names; I might even have thought they were relatives I hadn't met yet!
Add that to the fact that James Caan also starred in at least one Western with John Wayne.....well you can just imagine the status he had with my family. LOL
Isn't it interesting how enamored we are--as a culture--with certain actors and the characters and stories they immortalize? That's always fascinated me.
