Merry Christmas DW and LJ friends! I'm spending the day with my parents eating too much (as usual).

I haven't posted the Christmas cards I made for [personal profile] polarforscherin and [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin yet. I know the former arrived safe and sound, I hope the latter did too. Anyway, I'm putting them behind a cut, just in case [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin hasn't received hers yet and doesn't want spoilers. ^_^'

It's a bit early for the Christmassy layout, but I've been in a Christmas mood the whole week, so who cares. Also, I'm working on the Christmas cards (I'm a bit behind schedule, but that's nothing new) AND I'm taking a day trip to South Tyrol to see a Christmas market tomorrow. So, yeah, let's bring out the Christmas layout! \o/

So, [personal profile] polarforscherin's Christmas card seems to be lost forever. :(

Luckily, I always take pictures of the cards I draw before sending them, so she can at least see what it looked like:

Polarforscherin's Christmas card )

Hopefully it's one of those cases when letters turn up randomly months or years later. Never say never! XD

And while I'm on the topic of Christmas cards, here are the other two I sent this year:

First of all: thanks for the Christmas card, [profile] schwimmerin! Remembering our adventures around Northern Italy from last year put a big grin on my face.

I was a bit late sending out cards this year, I'm afraid some of you won't get it before the 25th. Hopefully before the 31st? Sorry. :(

Other than that, I've been quite busy visiting the annual arts & crafts fair earlier this month (where a veeery cute German vendor started talking to me in German when he saw my St Pauli jacket) and the O Bej O Bej market in Milan (a traditional market held around St. Ambrose's Day).

Last night I went to see Madame Sadowsky. Man, had I missed a good night out. I had to go on my own because none of my friends could come with me, but I decided to go anyway and I'm very glad I did. I hadn't danced so much in ages. Also, I thought of [profile] schwimmerin because there was a Farin look-alike! I did a double take, at a first glance I really thought it was him! (Just younger. XD)

And tonight I'm seeing Bluvertigo! It's going to be a stroll down memory lane, they were my favourite band in the late '90s.

And on Sunday I'll be a zombie. I'm getting too old for this kind of weekend... XD
gothikmaus: (Xmas)
Three out of four Christmas cards have reached their recipients, so I can share them here.

The Christmas cards are done! \o/ I should be able to send them out the day after tomorrow if the sore throat I have today doesn't turn into a nasty cold, so keep your fingers crossed.

Now that I have time, I was thinking of doing a sort of Advent Calendar, posting a drawing or drabble each day until Christmas, but I've already skipped two days. Oh, well. Does anyone have any request?

I went to the annual arts and crafts fair on Saturday and, well, this happened:

I'm worse than a 5-year-old. XD I had talked about the Time-Turner with a colleague just a few weeks ago and when I saw a stand selling Harry Potter themed merchandise I couldn't resist. Then, about 20 minutes later, I saw another stand that sold fantasy gadgets (Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter etc.) and they had magic wands! Harry's, Hermione's, Dumbledore's and Voldemort's. And because I had just bought a Time-Turner, I thought "Well, who knows, I may want to dress up as Hermione for Halloween or Carnival or something, I have the perfect hair for that..." So, yeah, I ended up buying her wand. My inner fangirl is extremely pleased. XD
gothikmaus: (Ginger alert!)
BBC Radio 4 Christmas schedule: Cabin Pressure (sadly, the last two episodes) and GOOD OMENS! :D

And the best thing about it? Unlike TV shows, which are not available for people abroad, I can listen to radio shows on the BBC iPlayer! I can't wait! :D

Talking of Christmas, I'm almost done with Christmas cards, if nothing major happens, I should be able to send them off next week. I've had so much fun drawing them, I know I say it all the time, but I should really draw more often. Well, now that I'm unemployed I have no excuse. Apart from my laziness, that is. Mycroft would be proud. XD

Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I survived the usual intense eating and I'm finally ready to post the Christmas cards I sent my LJ friends. Oh, btw, [identity profile] schwimmerin.livejournal.com, I got your card on the 23th, thank you! I don't know if you got mine before flying back home, but this year's card isn't very Christmassy, I wanted to be original but I don't know if it worked.

Anyway, here are the cards:

Christmas cards )

Anyway, I hope everyone liked their cards, I loved yours and had a lot of fun drawing them, these were pretty much the only drawings I did this year. That will have to change next year.
gothikmaus: (Xmas)
I have done nothing but bitch and complain lately (even if I did so in locked entries). To balance things out a bit I'll share this Christmassy link:

Christmas Village

There's a shop in a town nearby that builds a massive Christmas village every year where you can find everything, and I mean everything, you might need to decorate your home for the holidays. I went there with my mother last Saturday and was overwhelmed by the pretty.

This morning I woke up earlier than usual and the sun was shining, so I decided to go to work on foot. The wind was cold but the sun was still quite warm and the morning stroll did wonders for my mood. Let's hope it lasts.
gothikmaus: (Xmas)
I wanted to draw some Christmas fanart but I've been terribly busy and not really inspired. I'm working on something right now, but it's not Christmas related, so I'll post it when it's done, maybe on Boxing Day.

But I do have some Christmassy fanart! The card I sent to [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin, it arrived on the other side of the Atlantic safe and sound and before the 25th!

Farin wishes everyone a very rock'n'roll Xmas! )

And here's our new Christmas decoration, an adorable owl family we got at the arts and crafts fair a couple of weeks ago (the silver snowflake was not included):

Hoot! )

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Another crazy day at work. People make the most unbelievable mistakes while filling in the most basic forms, then of course they turn everything in at the very last moment so we have to run back and forth to meet the deadline. Sometimes I think I take my job too seriously, it feels like I'm the only one who gives a fuck in that office.

Anyway. [livejournal.com profile] angrylogic and [livejournal.com profile] kiviraat got my Christmas card! I'm SO impressed with how efficient the postal service has been this year. I hope things will go on like this and I'll receive my Amazon parcel tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Holmes and Watson under the mistletoe )
gothikmaus: (H50 - Steve/Cath)
Today I was finally able to watch the latest H50 episode. I downloaded it days ago but didn't have time until this morning. Things at work are still insanely busy, I'm alone in the office doing the work of 2 people and on top of everything else today we launched the new website of the local newspaper I collaborate with. I'm exhausted. Hopefully I'll be able to fix the last ongoing problem at work next week, so I can relax for a few days over Christmas.

And while we're talking about Hawaii Five-0, I said I would buy Season 1 for my mum, right? Well, I couldn't find it anywhere. It was released in July and it's gone. Luckily I found it on Amazon.it, I should receive the parcel at work on Tuesday.

Here, have a spoiler video from next week's episode, it cheered me up immensely (unless you don't like Steve/Cath, in that case don't click):

Aaand [livejournal.com profile] urania_chan got my Christmas card! I didn't know what to draw this year, so I used one of her LJ icons for inspiration.

Gone with the Wind - Xmas Edition )
gothikmaus: (Sherlock/John snow)
I survived the arts and craft fair. I used to go every year to buy Christmas presents, but I didn't go last year and the one before and had forgotten how huge and crowded it is. There are stands from all over the world, with lovely handmade objects and delicious food, but man, I'm exhausted now.

[livejournal.com profile] polarforscherin got my Christmas card! She asked for "Sherlock harpooning a pig in Mycroft's office/Diogenes Club". I didn't draw exactly that, but hey, there's a pig in the picture!

Can you imagine Mycroft's face? )
gothikmaus: (Xmas)
Aaah, I'm enjoying my day off immensely. Sure, I checked my work email this morning because there are a couple of things that are still ongoing, but I forwared the important ones to my boss and the others can wait.

I was thinking of going to the Christmas market, but I didn't feel like facing the cold and the hordes of Christmas shoppers. So I slept in, had a waffle for breakfast and caught up with some online stuff this morning, so now all I have to do is finish two Christmas cards. I still need to buy a present for my friend S, my dad and my mum, but I know what to buy, so it shouldn't be a problem. Actually, I've already bought a present for my mum, but my dad didn't know what to get her, so I suggested the Hawaii Five-0 DVDs and kindly offered to buy them for him. I am so very generous. Can you believe they released Season 1 on DVD just a couple of months ago?! I wanted to buy it for my mum last Christmas but couldn't find the DVDs anywhere and then last summer I found out it hadn't been released for the Italian market yet! Oh, well, at least they're here now.

And while we're talking about H50 and Christmas, [livejournal.com profile] azziria got my card! I only sent it on Monday or Tuesday, I'm very impressed.

So, even if I was an idiot and messed up the postage, everyone got their Christmas card in the end. This is the last one, for [livejournal.com profile] dementordelta:

I had a lot of fun drawing them, even if I was a bit late as usual, I'm already looking forward to doing it again next year. :)

Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, FLIST!

First of all: OHMYGOD my friend S. got me a smartphone for Christmas! :O Sure, she works for Samsung so she must have got it for half the price or something, but still. A f*cking smartphone. I was shocked when I saw it. And I feel like Danny Williams with his goofy thumbs: I like keyboards, all right? I find touch-screens... intimidating. And I'm always afraid of breaking things, so I'm handling it as if it were made of glass. It'll take me a while to get used to it.

My parents got me an adorable hat they bought in Paris (it's got a tartan pattern in black, grey, blue and white), new pyjamas (again a tartan pattern, but in pink, purple and grey) and a bottle of Baileys, plus a couple of little things I needed. So, yeah, I'm not complaining at all.

Also, I realised I haven't posted the last Christmas cards yet, so here are the ones I sent to [livejournal.com profile] angrylogic and [livejournal.com profile] kiviraat:

I don't know if the last person already got her card, so I won't post it.

I'm going to the cinema to see "Puss in boots" tonight. It's weird going to the cinema today, it means someone is working on Christmas Day and that's... not fair? I don't know, I'm weird like that.

And yesterday I found out, totally by chance as usual, that Italian TV is airing Sherlock. I remember watching a little bit of it online earlier this year and being outraged because the dubbing was so bad. Well, not the dubbing per se, but they chose actors whose voices were so different from the original ones that I couldn't listen to them. And there were also some translation issues, so I gave up pretty quickly. I don't know, maybe I could give it a another try, they're showing it on Thursday night and I don't have to go to the gym for the next two Thursdays...

Anyway, I hope you're all having a fantastic Christmas! :)
gothikmaus: (Hawaii Five-O)
I've finally finished my Hawaii Five-0 Christmas Trope fanart! Let me tell you I'm very happy with it, it looks exactly like the image I had in mind when I started drawing, and that doesn't happen often.

Title: White Christmas?
Characters: Steve, Danny, Grace
Rating: so G it hurts
A/N: Drawn for the Hawaii Five-0 Christmas Trope.

#9
Prompter: [livejournal.com profile] t_verano
Prompt: [Steve/Danny + Grace] Somebody builds a sand "snow"-man or snow-people on the beach. Could be anything -- Steve's beach or somewhere else, built by Danny and/or Steve for Grace or built by Grace herself, or built by Steve or Kono and Chin for Danny. Any kind of emotions -- missing snow and New Jersey and family back there, or just fun, or deeper feelings. Anything. :-)

Just a quick post before I go out for the last round of Christmas shopping.

[livejournal.com profile] urania_chan and [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin got their Christmas cards! \o/ I should really stop complaining about the Italian posts: the card I sent to Germany only took 2 days to arrive and the ones I sent to Norway and the USA only 4 days. Only 2 more cards are still on their way, one to the USA and the other to Scotland (it's technically 2 cards to Scotland, but they're travelling in the same envelope).

Anyway, here are the drawings I did for [livejournal.com profile] urania_chan and [livejournal.com profile] schwimmerin.

Right, I'm off. Hopefully I won't get crushed by the crowd of Christmas shoppers...

[livejournal.com profile] polarforscherin, I got your card yesterday. It seems the German postal service isn't so bad after all, it only took 3 days to get here. Mine was faster, though. ;)

Anyway, thank you, both for the card and for the ficlet, it made me grin like an idiot. :)
gothikmaus: (Ginger alert!)
First of all: [livejournal.com profile] urania_chan, I got your card yesterday! Danke, die ist so süß! :D

Second: [livejournal.com profile] polarforscherin already got her card! :O I'm really impressed by the efficiency of the Italian postal service. Especially because I realised - after sending the cards, of course - that I messed up the postage. *headdesk* But apparently that didn't stop my card from reaching Germany in 2 days, so I'm not complaining.

Here's the picture I drew on her card, the quality isn't stellar, but I was too lazy to use my scanner (which is old and only connected to my even older computer that I never use anymore), so I just took a picture of it.

See? I told you the Sherlock card would be the silliest one this year as well. XD

Please, let me know when you receive your card so I can stop fretting about my inability to use stamps. *facepalms*
